Our Staff - Meet Fiona Our Outdoor Loving Playleader

We’re so proud of our wonderful team of staff who take such good care of our children. They are well qualified and receive regular training as well as working towards higher childcare qualifications.

Fiona is our nature and wildlife loving Playleader at Auchenblae Pre-school, she looks after our garden and teaches the children all about the world around us.

Between them they have recently received training in Paediatric Emergency First Aid, NSPCC Child Protection Officer Training, Froebel Training - Stage 2, Managing Behaviour, Effective Risk Management, Food Hygiene, Speech & Language, GDPR Law, Infection Control, Thinking & Talking Floor Books, Schemas and Observations. Kirsty, our very progressive Pre-school Manager, is currently woking towards her BA in Childhood Practices.

We are privileged that not only does our team hold a variety of training but also a variety of interests, just like the children! We are thrilled that Fiona, a Playleader with Auchenblae Pre-school since 2018, is mad about the outdoors and wildlife.

Not only is she a fun, gentle and capable presence in the playroom, she also takes care of maintaining our outdoor area and enjoys teaching the children all about nature and especially how to bug hunt!...and why bugs are so important in keeping balance in nature.

Fiona is in her element during our Forest School Sessions. At home Fiona keeps bees, chickens ducks...and rats!

Fiona is down to earth, great fun and able to turn her hand to anything. In addition to her training in Schemas, Child Protection, Food & Fire Safety, she is currently working towards her SVQ3 in Childcare. We feel very privileged to have Fiona as part of the Auchenblae Pre-school team.
